Native biocomma® frits are sintered from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and inherited the hydrophobic characteristics of the latter.
While hydrophobic frits are ideal for solid-phase extraction and flash chromatography, applications involving proteins / antibodies need biocompatible hydrophilic frits. Biocomma's hydrophilic frits have proven to be good choice for affinity chromatography.
